Roger Rouvrais was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Loïc Delsaux showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-0 in the 4 minute of play. Mathieu Dufils showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Philippe Corbet, who was totally free with the ball in the 10th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Theophile Pechard in the 11th minute of play forced Gières's goalkeeper Mathieu Dufils to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 15 minutes into the match, Barrade's Theophile Pechard sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Mathieu Dufils narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Mathieu Dufils made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Richard Lorin in the 17th minute of play. Roger Rouvrais made a fantastic save in the 19th minute, when Serge Guillermin sent off a good shot on target. Mathieu Dufils stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Richard Lorin's shot from short distance in the 21st minute. Mathieu Dufils took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Richard Lorin, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 37 minutes into the match, Gières's Serge Guillermin sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Roger Rouvrais narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Ibrahim Annette during the 47th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Barrade booed when Gières was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 47 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ibrahim Annette didn't get a good kick on the ball.

The wind increased when Loïc Delsaux made the kick off in the second half. Roger Rouvrais showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Serge Guillermin in the 52nd minute of the match. Serge Guillermin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 54th minute. Roger Rouvrais tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 61 minutes into the match, Barrade's goal looked a bit too open when Loïc Delsaux came free, but Roger Rouvrais reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 66th minute, Bertrand Charbonnel got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Theophile Pechard got free with Mathieu Dufils in the 73rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 75 minutes into the match, Serge Guillermin had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Roger Rouvrais. Barrade's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Serge Guillermin was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. Roger Rouvrais made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Loïc Delsaux in the 80th minute of play. The supporters of Gières booed when Barrade was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 81 match minutes in a wonderful position. Marc-Antoine Bruant didn't get a good kick on the ball. Barrade's Roger Rouvrais played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Loïc Delsaux in the 84th minute of play. In the 89th minute Richard Lorin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mathieu Dufils saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Barrade's Richard Lorin in the 95th minute got a chance for a shot 95th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Gières's goalie prevented a goal. After 95 played minutes Gières got a freekick which was hit by Ibrahim Annette. For all the effort they put into the match, the Barrade players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Gières.
