Joaquim Gaudre tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Jean-Paul Gravier had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 9th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jean-Charles Krawczyk kicked well hit freekick during the 10th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jean-Paul Gravier in the 12th minute of play forced Melun's goalkeeper Florent Almeida to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Mathys Audigier fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Joaquim Gaudre having to interfere. Florent Almeida made an important save on a dangerous shot by Désiré Rondeau in the 18th minute. In the 20th minute, William Gout got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 23 minutes into the match, Varage's goal looked a bit too open when William Gout came free, but Joaquim Gaudre reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Florent Almeida made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jean-Paul Gravier in the 24th minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Florent Dennemont during the 26th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. 31 minutes into the match, Melun's goal looked a bit too open when Jean-Paul Gravier came free, but Florent Almeida reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 32nd minute Mathys Audigier shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Joaquim Gaudre saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If William Gout had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some careless play in the Melun defense, Désiré Rondeau kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Florent Almeida. The Melun fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Florent Almeida should have stopped the shot. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Jean-Paul Gravier to make the kick off. Jean-Paul Gravier scored 2-0 in the 53rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Florent Almeida, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. When Jean-Paul Gravier came up free with the goalie in the 60th minute, the Varage fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jean-Paul Gravier couldn't finish the play. When Florent Dennemont was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 68 minutes had been played. The supporters of Melun booed when Varage was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 69 match minutes in a wonderful position. Florent Dennemont didn't get a good kick on the ball. Mathys Audigier struck a weak shot in the 70th minute. Joaquim Gaudre didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Melun. After 76 minutes, Antonin Ginet mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Varage and the Melun players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 76 played minutes Varage got a freekick which was hit by Antonin Ginet. William Gout sent away a hard shot on goal in the 80th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 81st minute, Mathys Audigier managed to get in a good position for a shot. Melun's supporters rose to their feet, but Mathys Audigier was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Joaquim Gaudre breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Ronald Prieur during the 84th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 84th minute, Ronald Prieur hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ronald Prieur got his second yellow card in the match during the 89th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. Ronald Prieur hit a great freekick 90 minutes into the match. Varage's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
