The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Boris Juste stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The audience was convinced that Ronan Payot's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Alfred Vallin was relentless in the 90th minute of the game. In the 95th match minute, Hardricourt was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Paul-Henri Bellay to maneuver through the defense. In the 98th minute Barnabe Desmaris shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jean-Marie Figuiere saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
