After having played for 7 minutes, Eddy Houssin managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Montreuil's supporters crossed their fingers, but Eddy Houssin was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The referee felt a red card was in order, 10 minutes into the game, when Jackson Casado put in a rough tackle. In the 9th minute, one of Nonardie:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Nonardie. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eddy Houssin in the 17th minute of play forced Nonardie's goalkeeper Salim Souverain to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A hard shot 22 in the game by Noé Estienne from a close distance when the talented Hocine Le Forestier managed to make a qualified save. Montreuil's players were relieved. After a rather tough play, Montreuil's Gildas Richer got a free kick in the 23rd minute. Hocine Le Forestier made an important save on a dangerous shot by Modeste Plantard in the 24th minute. Salim Souverain took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eddy Houssin, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Corentin Roge during the 39th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Nonardie getting a freekick after 40 minutes play. Corentin Roge hit a great ball. Eddy Houssin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Salim Souverain having to interfere. Salim Souverain made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eddy Houssin in the 49th minute of play. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Modeste Plantard stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. With an all-out effort, Montreuil's Salim Souverain threw himself towards the right post 53 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Eddy Houssin, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. After a defensive mix-up in Montreuil's zone, Modeste Plantard stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Hocine Le Forestier came out of the goal and Modeste Plantard tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 63 minutes into the match, Nonardie's Grégory Goursaud sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Hocine Le Forestier narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Gilbert Duplouy charged in rather forcefully in the 69th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Gilbert Duplouy the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Nonardie's Gilbert Duplouy got a free kick in the 69th minute. Modeste Plantard sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 84th minute, Nonardie's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Terry Pradel fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. If Eddy Houssin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The Montreuil supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Montreuil would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
