In the 24th minute, Arthur Durocher sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Chambon's Gilles Desmarest didn't even have to move. Valérien Corneloup took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from José Mesnil, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Farid Simian struck a weak shot in the 29th minute. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

Arcueil's Valérien Corneloup proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 80th minute of the match, managed to save Arcueil from getting a goal against them. Valérien Corneloup made a fantastic save in the 82nd minute, when José Mesnil sent off a good shot on target. After 82 played minutes Arcueil got a freekick which was hit by Abraham Terrasson. 88 minutes into the match, Arcueil's goal looked a bit too open when Farid Simian came free, but Valérien Corneloup reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Farid Simian fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Valérien Corneloup having to interfere. Valérien Corneloup made a fantastic save in the 97th minute, when José Mesnil sent off a good shot on target. In the 99th minute, José Mesnil got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Many of Chambon's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. Chambon may have spent more time on the ball, but Arcueil were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
