Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Houplin's Gaston Langlade started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 3rd minute, Lionel Guiton hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Justin Ricordeau sent away a hard shot on goal in the 9th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. A collision led to Meyzieu getting a freekick after 12 minutes play. Flavian Rattier hit a great ball. In the 19th minute the ball was on its way in behind Houplin's goalkeeper Franklin Wendling, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After 23 minutes, Louis Chaffard mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Meyzieu and the Houplin players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Houplin booed when Meyzieu was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. Louis Chaffard didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Cedric Vagner fell near the penalty area in the 25th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Meyzieu's protests and gave Cedric Vagner a yellow card for diving instead. Despite this Bastien Chabas quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. 35 minutes into the match, Meyzieu's Philippe Hugonnet sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Franklin Wendling narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Bastien Chabas showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Philippe Pavard, who was totally free with the ball in the 42nd minute. Bastien Chabas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gaston Langlade in the 44th minute of play. Philippe Pavard sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Philippe Hugonnet to make the kick off. In the 55th minute Gaston Langlade shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bastien Chabas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 59 minutes, Emeric Riffault mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Houplin and the Meyzieu players grew even worse after the yellow card. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Franklin Wendling showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. In the 62nd minute Philippe Hugonnet shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Franklin Wendling saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Houplin booed when Meyzieu was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 68 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cedric Vagner didn't get a good kick on the ball. Houplin's Philippe Pavard came free and shot a quick shot against goal 71 minutes in the game, fortunately Bastien Chabas had problems saving as it came toward the left post. Emeric Riffault kicked well hit freekick during the 86th minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Justin Ricordeau in the 87th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Franklin Wendling prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Meyzieu's Justin Ricordeau got a good chance for a goal in the 89th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
