In the 3rd minute Cyril Landais shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Romain Schroeder saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gaston Deveaux fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Octave Boulesteix having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cyril Landais in the 23rd minute of play forced Hoymille's goalkeeper Romain Schroeder to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Bryan Robard came up free with the goalie in the 25th minute, the Sète fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Bryan Robard couldn't finish the play. Romain Schroeder showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cyril Landais, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. When Jocelyn Citerne fell near the penalty area in the 30th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Sète's protests and gave Jocelyn Citerne a yellow card for diving instead. After 30 played minutes Sète got a freekick which was hit by Jocelyn Citerne. The long shot by Aimé Le Port in the 31st minute really tested Octave Boulesteix's skills. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Sète's Cyril Landais got a good chance for a goal in the 48th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Gaston Deveaux stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Laurent Lemoine hit a great freekick 76 minutes into the match. The crowd rose to their feet as Cyril Landais kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Romain Schroeder.
