The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Felix Estrade's late challenge caught a Vigen's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Vincent Flamme fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 6th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gabriel Delaine having to interfere. When Gabriel Valy, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 10 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Gabriel Delaine was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. In the 15th minute of the match, Eugene Salvan tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Marc Guyomarch saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. In the 17thth minute of the game Vincent Flamme who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Champanges's Gabriel Delaine was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The supporters of Champanges booed when Vigen was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Raoul Blind didn't get a good kick on the ball. Marc Guyomarch was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Eugene Salvan showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-0 in the 22 minute of play. 27 minutes into the match, Gabriel Valy had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Gabriel Delaine. Champanges's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Gabriel Valy was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Eugene Salvan during the 30th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Eugene Salvan kicked well hit freekick during the 30th minute of the match. In the 40th minute, Eugene Salvan got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Marc Guyomarch showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Thomas Salabert, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute. After 47 played minutes Champanges got a freekick which was hit by Frederic Dorval. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

51 minutes into the game, Yannick Dulon cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-1. Marc Guyomarch was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After some fancy dribbling in the 60th minute, Eugene Salvan managed to get in a good position for a shot. Champanges's supporters rose to their feet, but Eugene Salvan was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Marc Guyomarch breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After having played for 63 minutes, Gabriel Valy managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Vigen's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gabriel Valy was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Yannick Dulon in the 66th minute of play forced Vigen's goalkeeper Marc Guyomarch to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Eugene Salvan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Marc Guyomarch took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Yannick Dulon, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 73 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Vigen! In the 75th minute there was a penalty for Champanges. Flavien Bavay stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Marc Guyomarch. 3-1. Marc Guyomarch made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eugene Salvan in the 78th minute of play. In the 80th minute of the match Raoul Blind sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Gabriel Delaine skillfully saved the ball. After a rather tough play, Vigen's Aymerick Beche got a free kick in the 87th minute. Eugene Salvan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out.
