The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 3 minutes into the match, Trélaze's goal looked a bit too open when Johan Dez came free, but Loïc Cado reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Brice Cornet stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Philibert Verstraete's shot from short distance in the 11th minute. France's Anthony Boissin got a good chance for a goal in the 16th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Johan Dez fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Loïc Cado having to interfere. In the 27th minute Johan Dez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Loïc Cado saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Paulo Bonfils fell near the penalty area in the 35th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Trélaze's protests and gave Paulo Bonfils a yellow card for diving instead. Tristan De Meyer's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Loïc Cado firmly grabbed it by the left post. Trélaze's Loïc Cado played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Johan Dez in the 46th minute of play. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The wind increased when Philibert Verstraete made the kick off in the second half. Loïc Cado showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Johan Dez, who was totally free with the ball in the 63rd minute. In the 66th minute the ball was on its way in behind Trélaze's goalkeeper Loïc Cado, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Johan Dez fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Loïc Cado having to interfere. If Johan Dez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Trélaze getting a freekick after 76 minutes play. Jean-Charles Croissant hit a great ball. In the 88th minute, Philibert Verstraete got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Philibert Verstraete in the 92nd minute of play forced France's goalkeeper Brice Cornet to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 93rd minute, Anthony Boissin made a precise shot to the right of Loïc Cado. Trélaze's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The France fans cheered their team off the field, for while Trélaze had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
