Magont's Salomon Richardeau proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 12th minute of the match, managed to save Magont from getting a goal against them. In the 15th minute the ball was on its way in behind Magont's goalkeeper Salomon Richardeau, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. When Farid Darnaud fell near the penalty area in the 17th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Magont's protests and gave Farid Darnaud a yellow card for diving instead. Magont's Eliott Giannini got a good chance for a goal in the 23rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Sammy Scouarnec's late challenge caught a Magont's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Farid Darnaud stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Rivière's Tanguy Grandidier played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Théophile Kiener in the 52nd minute of play. But to his dismay, Eliott Giannini quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. After some fancy dribbling in the 59th minute, Farid Darnaud managed to get in a good position for a shot. Magont's supporters rose to their feet, but Farid Darnaud was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. They had held their defensive line well and made the most of their chances, to claim a victory over Rivière's much stronger midfield.
