Jean-Marie Soulard took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Laurent Pham, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Barthelemy Joulie scored 1-0 in the 13th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Jean-Marie Soulard, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Barthelemy Joulie who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 19thth minute tested the skills of Jean-Marie Soulard when he managed to save the team from getting behind.
