In the 4th minute Victor Devillers shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jacques Ricquebourg saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Arnold Baroux's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Léo Cellier read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 8th minute of play. Jacques Ricquebourg showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mourad Nicollet, who was totally free with the ball in the 12th minute. After having played for 12 minutes, Mourad Nicollet managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Férin's supporters crossed their fingers, but Mourad Nicollet was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Bob Corvaisier hit a great freekick 19 minutes into the match. Mourad Nicollet struck a weak shot in the 22nd minute. Jacques Ricquebourg didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Férin. Férin's Léo Cellier played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dominique Lesueur in the 30th minute of play. 38 minutes into the match, Férin's goalkeeper Léo Cellier had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Arnold Baroux. Through an outstanding action, after 40 minutes, Léo Cellier successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Dominique Lesueur sent away a hard shot on goal in the 46th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.
