Spectators: 35 (Terracing: 27, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Lancey's Dominique Becker started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Jordan Watremez had several of the Lancey's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 3 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 1-0 score and a disappointed Raoul Sarfati as he didn't even see the shot coming. After a rather tough play, Silvange's Francois-Xavier Vandenbroucke got a free kick in the 10th minute. 12 minutes into the match, Dominique Becker had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Etienne Cahuzac. Silvange's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Dominique Becker was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. In the 16th match minute, Silvange was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Paul Argentin to maneuver through the defense. If Faustin Herbet had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Faustin Herbet in the 29th minute of play forced Lancey's goalkeeper Raoul Sarfati to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Raoul Sarfati didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 31st minute, which inside left pole to 2-1. Lancey's Raoul Sarfati played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Faustin Herbet in the 35th minute of play. Etienne Cahuzac showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alexandre Dehay, who was totally free with the ball in the 38th minute. Dominique Becker struck a weak shot in the 40th minute. Etienne Cahuzac didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Lancey. Faustin Herbet received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 44th minute. Raoul Sarfati tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Alexandre Dehay recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 47th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Faustin Herbet to make the kick off. Raoul Sarfati showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jordan Watremez in the 55th minute of the match. When Silvange's Jordan Watremez in 60 game minutes managed to cut through with the ball in front of the goal, only having to shoot. Raoul Sarfati guarding the goal like a pit bull was extremely focused and managed to reach the ball just by the crossbar before it went in. After some fancy dribbling in the 64th minute, Dominique Becker managed to get in a good position for a shot. Lancey's supporters rose to their feet, but Dominique Becker was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Etienne Cahuzac breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Jordan Watremez in the 67th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Raoul Sarfati saved Lancey from getting behind. Silvange's Etienne Cahuzac proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 68th minute of the match, managed to save Silvange from getting a goal against them. 71 minutes into the match, Silvange's goalkeeper Etienne Cahuzac had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Alexandre Dehay. Francois-Xavier Vandenbroucke charged in rather forcefully in the 71st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Francois-Xavier Vandenbroucke the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. When Lancey's Dominique Becker in the 77th minute got a chance for a shot 77th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Silvange's goalie prevented a goal. A collision led to Lancey getting a freekick after 78 minutes play. Alexandre Dehay hit a great ball. If Jordan Watremez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Faudel Herin's late challenge caught a Silvange's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Faudel Herin helped the player get up and apologised. Faudel Herin hit a great freekick 83 minutes into the match. Silvange's Etienne Cahuzac played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dominique Becker in the 87th minute of play. Carl Boone kicked well hit freekick during the 90th minute of the match. Silvange's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
