After a rather tough play, Auchel's Claude Dumontier got a free kick in the 16th minute. 17 minutes into the match, Montpellier's Basile Moniez sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Antoine Coroller narrowly saved just below the crossbar. A collision led to Auchel getting a freekick after 19 minutes play. Carlos Colin hit a great ball. Marc-Olivier Chatry kicked well hit freekick during the 47th minute of the match.

The wind increased when Emile Mellet made the kick off in the second half. André Toupin had great luck who in the 73rdth minute grab hold of the ball when Emile Mellet from a short distance tried to put the ball inside the right post. In the 74th minute, Eugène Réa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. André Toupin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Emile Mellet, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Antoine Coroller showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ben Cormerais, who was totally free with the ball in the 78th minute. Josselin Finot blasted a shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Antoine Coroller having to make a save. Emile Mellet sent away a hard shot on goal in the 82nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Marc-Olivier Chatry charged in rather forcefully in the 84th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Marc-Olivier Chatry the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 84th match minute, Montpellier was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Marc-Olivier Chatry to maneuver through the defense. 89 minutes into the match, Auchel's Emile Mellet sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that André Toupin narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Basile Moniez lost his temper 97 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. When the match had been going on for 99 minutes, Auchel's Paul-Henri Machado got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of André Toupin. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Auchel walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
