John-David Carrot might have been able to make a better finish in the 4th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Rodrigue Rimbaud. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Blaise Liotard showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bixente Le Normand in the 14th minute of the match. Johan Lions took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 19th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Blaise Liotard. Houchin's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Jim Navarro could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 25th minute of the match, but Blaise Liotard made a huge save. When Bixente Le Normand came up free with the goalie in the 28th minute, the Malpierre fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Bixente Le Normand couldn't finish the play. Malpierre's Bixente Le Normand got a good chance for a goal in the 32nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Bixente Le Normand had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. If John-David Carrot had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Blaise Liotard was left in no man's land by his defense there! When Geoffroy Peters fell near the penalty area in the 92nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Malpierre's protests and gave Geoffroy Peters a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Houchin booed when Malpierre was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 93 match minutes in a wonderful position. Geoffroy Peters didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a little luck, Malpierre's Rodrigue Rimbaud got control of the ball when Fabrice Belmonte tried to sneak it across the goal line. Fabrice Belmonte sent away a hard shot on goal in the 97th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Houchin's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
