Manuel Defontaine made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. After a defensive mix-up in Marcoussis's zone, Romain Lienhardt stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Romain Lienhardt fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Manuel Defontaine having to interfere. Theophile Ulrich fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Donovan Roblin having to interfere. Jordan Monnin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Manuel Defontaine showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Romain Lienhardt, who was totally free with the ball in the 39th minute. Marcoussis's Manuel Defontaine proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 41st minute of the match, managed to save Marcoussis from getting a goal against them. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.
The wind increased when Romain Lienhardt made the kick off in the second half. Rodolphe Jamois charged in rather forcefully in the 53rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. An unexpectedly hard shot by Theophile Ulrich in the 72nd minute of play forced Vernet's goalkeeper Donovan Roblin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Jordan Monnin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jordan Monnin got free with Donovan Roblin in the 77th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Donovan Roblin made a fantastic save in the 87th minute, when Jordan Monnin sent off a good shot on target. Donovan Roblin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Theophile Ulrich in the 90th minute of play. 94 minutes into the match, Vernet's goal looked a bit too open when Theophile Ulrich came free, but Donovan Roblin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 96th minute Romain Lienhardt shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Manuel Defontaine saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. For all the effort they put into the match, the Marcoussis players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Vernet.
