The supporters of Eybens booed when Bernin was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 3 match minutes in a wonderful position. Charly Couprie didn't get a good kick on the ball. The referee ignored Eybens's protests and gave Mohamed Garot a yellow card for diving instead. In the 71st minute, Mike Pourre got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 74th minute Fabrice Maynard shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but André Gosnet saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jean-Christophe Bordenave took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Maxence Ladet, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Octave Peigne had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Eybens's zone, Mike Pourre stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jean-Christophe Bordenave came out of the goal and Mike Pourre tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Mohamed Garot hit a great freekick 97 minutes into the match. When Bernin's Mike Pourre in the 98th minute got a chance for a shot 98th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Eybens's goalie prevented a goal. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Eybens walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
