Grégory Wirtz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Geoffroy Édel, who was totally free with the ball in the 5th minute. In the 7th minute of the match Serraz got a corner. Maulde's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Pascal Geyer ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner led Serraz's Fernand Mortelette to a score. 1-0 in the 7th minute. Amaury Duveau charged in rather forcefully in the 9th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Amaury Duveau the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 9th minute, Amaury Duveau hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 10 minutes of play, Maulde's Danny Dupuy made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Noé Sarret was left in no man's land by his defense there! Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Tony Alessandri in the 17th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Noé Sarret prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Tony Alessandri sent away a hard shot on goal in the 19th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Serraz's Noé Sarret played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Danny Dupuy in the 20th minute of play. Grégory Wirtz didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Barnabé Delage went, in the 22nd minute, to the upper right corner, 2-1 was the resulting score. 30 minutes into the game, Maulde's Danny Dupuy nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Noé Sarret made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-2. Danny Dupuy fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Noé Sarret having to interfere. In the 47th minute, Geoffroy Édel fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Geoffroy Édel to make the kick off. Tony Alessandri received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 52nd minute. Noé Sarret tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 54th minute, Geoffroy Édel made a precise shot to the right of Grégory Wirtz. Maulde's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-2. Barnabé Delage's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Grégory Wirtz read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 60th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Maulde's zone, Barnabé Delage stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Grégory Wirtz came out of the goal and Barnabé Delage tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 67thth minute of the game Geoffroy Édel who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Maulde's Grégory Wirtz was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After having played for 71 minutes, Barnabé Delage managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Serraz's supporters crossed their fingers, but Barnabé Delage was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Grégory Wirtz stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Geoffroy Édel's shot from short distance in the 82nd minute. Serraz's Barnabé Delage got a good chance for a goal in the 84th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Geoffroy Édel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Tony Alessandri fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Noé Sarret having to interfere. Tony Alessandri sent away a hard shot on goal in the 93rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. For all the effort they put into the match, the Maulde players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Serraz.
