Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Marcel Lignon kicked off to start the match. Felicien Montes made a fantastic save in the 6th minute, when Lucien Salles sent off a good shot on target. Lucien Salles could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 7th minute of the match, but Felicien Montes made a huge save. Jean Jahier received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 9th minute. Maurice Philippon tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Eugene Dreux's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Maurice Philippon read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 10th minute of play. Lucien Salles fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Felicien Montes having to interfere. Lucien Salles could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 14th minute of the match, but Felicien Montes made a huge save. Maurice Philippon made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eugene Dreux in the 17th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Annecy's Jarod Rabatel got a free kick in the 17th minute. If Eugene Dreux had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Lucien Salles might have been able to make a better finish in the 22nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Felicien Montes. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Lucien Salles ran back to his position shaking his head. After some careless play in the Annecy defense, Marcel Lignon kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Maurice Philippon. The Annecy fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Maurice Philippon should have stopped the shot. If Lucien Salles had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Maurice Philippon took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eugene Dreux, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Annecy booed when Monplaisir was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 59 match minutes in a wonderful position. Franklin Feraud didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Annecy's zone, Marcel Lignon stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Maurice Philippon came out of the goal and Marcel Lignon tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Felicien Montes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Romuald Grasser in the 78th minute of play. Maurice Philippon made a fantastic save in the 82nd minute, when Eugene Dreux sent off a good shot on target. Eugene Dreux's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Maurice Philippon read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 86th minute of play. With a little luck, Annecy's Maurice Philippon got control of the ball when Eugene Dreux tried to sneak it across the goal line. 92 minutes into the game, Marcel Lignon recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Maurice Philippon. Marcel Lignon showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-4. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Monplaisir eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
