Sète's Noureddine Gâtineau played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jean-Baptiste Le Moal in the 11th minute of play. If Jean-Baptiste Le Moal had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 15thth minute of the game Jean-Baptiste Le Moal who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Sète's Noureddine Gâtineau was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After 16 minutes of play, Royal's Alex Riquet made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Noureddine Gâtineau was left in no man's land by his defense there! After a rather tough play, Royal's Cyril Gallard got a free kick in the 19th minute. Adrien Cadiou took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Roman Tassy, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 22 minutes into the game, Augustin Passard was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Sète's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Royal the free kick. When the match had gone on for 23 minutes, Alex Riquet took a quick shot and it went in 2-0 without a chance for Noureddine Gâtineau to make any attempt to save it. When the match had gone on for 28 minutes, Jean-Baptiste Le Moal took a quick shot and it went in 3-0 without a chance for Noureddine Gâtineau to make any attempt to save it. 31 minutes into the game, Steve Bouchy was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Royal's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Sète the free kick. In the 31st match minute, Royal was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Steve Bouchy to maneuver through the defense. The audience was convinced that Flavian Devos's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Adrien Cadiou was relentless in the 37th minute of the game. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Flavian Devos in the 38th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Adrien Cadiou prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Flavian Devos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Adrien Cadiou having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Royal's zone, Roman Tassy stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Adrien Cadiou came out of the goal and Roman Tassy tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 3-0 at half-time.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Flavian Devos to strike the kick off in the second half. 56 minutes into the match, Royal's goalkeeper Adrien Cadiou had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Roman Tassy. After some fancy dribbling in the 65th minute, Alex Riquet managed to get in a good position for a shot. Royal's supporters rose to their feet, but Alex Riquet was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Noureddine Gâtineau breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Noureddine Gâtineau took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jean-Baptiste Le Moal, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jean-Baptiste Le Moal's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Noureddine Gâtineau read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 69th minute of play. A collision led to Sète getting a freekick after 70 minutes play. Tristan Liètard hit a great ball. Royal's Victorien Chatelard couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 71st minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Sète. Alex Riquet struck a weak shot in the 73rd minute. Noureddine Gâtineau didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Royal. After 74 played minutes Sète got a freekick which was hit by Kylian Lengrand. Noureddine Gâtineau made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jean-Baptiste Le Moal in the 75th minute of play. Noureddine Gâtineau took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jean-Baptiste Le Moal, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Flavian Devos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Adrien Cadiou having to interfere. Adrien Cadiou showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Flavian Devos, who was totally free with the ball in the 89th minute. In the 93rd match minute, Sète was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tristan Liètard to maneuver through the defense. Royal's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
