With an all-out effort, Thiers's Jean-Paul Serieys threw himself towards the right post 4 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Danny Lequesne, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. In the 7th minute, Florian Boissel hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Flavian Calas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 11th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Danny Lequesne in the 14th minute of play forced Dommartemont's goalkeeper Jean-Paul Serieys to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Dommartemont's Jean-Paul Serieys played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Danny Lequesne in the 21st minute of play. Dommartemont's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Romaric Nicot in the 26th minute. Dommartemont's Romaric Nicot was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Davy Oudard in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Thiers's Davy Oudard played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Johan Paty in the 31st minute of play. After 46 played minutes Dommartemont got a freekick which was hit by Claude Arab. After 48 minutes, Desire Sturm mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Thiers and the Dommartemont players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 48 played minutes Thiers got a freekick which was hit by Desire Sturm.

The wind increased when Danny Lequesne made the kick off in the second half. Johan Paty was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 54th minute. Dommartemont's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Martial Masson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jean-Paul Serieys having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Dommartemont's Johan Paty got a free kick in the 64th minute. If Danny Lequesne had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The Dommartemont fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. The crowd rose to their feet as Dommartemont's Johan Paty slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Davy Oudard. That made the score 1-2 after 84 minutes of play. Johan Paty recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 88th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Davy Oudard made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Johan Paty in the 90th minute of play. Dommartemont's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
