The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After 3 played minutes Magagnosc got a freekick which was hit by Éloi Delaval. Marc-Antoine Aldebert fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 4th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tommy Jovanovic having to interfere. After having played for 7 minutes, Marc-Antoine Aldebert managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Bouillargues's supporters crossed their fingers, but Marc-Antoine Aldebert was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Mathias Philippon charged in rather forcefully in the 8th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Mathias Philippon the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Bouillargues booed when Magagnosc was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 8 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mathias Philippon didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Prosper Baudon had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 11th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 15 minutes into the match, Bouillargues's goal looked a bit too open when Maximilien Bréchet came free, but Franck Le Saux reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Tommy Jovanovic made a fantastic save in the 19th minute, when Prosper Baudon sent off a good shot on target. After 23 minutes, Éloi Delaval mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Magagnosc and the Bouillargues players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Magagnosc getting a freekick after 24 minutes play. Éloi Delaval hit a great ball. Marc-Antoine Aldebert was extremely unlucky when he, in the 24th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Maximilien Bréchet in the 31st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Franck Le Saux saved Bouillargues from getting behind. Bouillargues's Franck Le Saux played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Maximilien Bréchet in the 32nd minute of play. Franck Le Saux showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Maximilien Bréchet, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. Maximilien Bréchet received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 36th minute. Franck Le Saux tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Maximilien Bréchet's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Franck Le Saux read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 38th minute of play. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Marc-Antoine Aldebert was the one to do the kick off. Diego Perdereau hit a great freekick 52 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, Magagnosc's Mathias Philippon got a free kick in the 55th minute. In the 58th minute, Cyril Perriot sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Magagnosc's Tommy Jovanovic didn't even have to move. Tommy Jovanovic stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Marc-Antoine Aldebert's shot from short distance in the 65th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marc-Antoine Aldebert in the 67th minute of play forced Magagnosc's goalkeeper Tommy Jovanovic to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Mathias Jacquel sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to Magagnosc getting a freekick after 97 minutes play. Maximilien Bréchet hit a great ball. Magagnosc's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
