Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Vallauris's Reynald Burgun started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Jean-Yves Mézière made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Reynald Burgun in the 5th minute of play. 6 minutes into the game, Harold Pichereau was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Vallauris's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Pouilly the free kick. A collision led to Vallauris getting a freekick after 6 minutes play. Harold Pichereau hit a great ball. If Ronald Bougon had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 9th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a little luck, Vallauris's David Kerbrat got control of the ball when Noé Bauduin tried to sneak it across the goal line. Ronald Bougon fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without David Kerbrat having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hakim Morineau in the 19th minute of play forced Pouilly's goalkeeper Jean-Yves Mézière to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 23rd minute, Batiste Bourg hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 26 minutes into the match, Pouilly's goal looked a bit too open when Reynald Burgun came free, but Jean-Yves Mézière reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Reynald Burgun fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jean-Yves Mézière having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Reynald Burgun in the 39th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jean-Yves Mézière prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When Reynald Burgun fell near the penalty area in the 44th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Vallauris's protests and gave Reynald Burgun a yellow card for diving instead. After 44 played minutes Vallauris got a freekick which was hit by Reynald Burgun. 47 minutes into the game, Reynald Burgun cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Jean-Yves Mézière was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.
54 minutes into the match, Vallauris's goal looked a bit too open when Ronald Bougon came free, but David Kerbrat reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 55th minute, Ronald Bougon made a precise shot to the right of David Kerbrat. Vallauris's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. In the 59th minute Noé Bauduin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but David Kerbrat saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. David Kerbrat took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Noé Bauduin, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Augustin Pignol fell near the penalty area in the 68th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Vallauris's protests and gave Augustin Pignol a yellow card for diving instead. In the 69th minute, Augustin Pignol hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in Vallauris's zone, Ronald Bougon stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. David Kerbrat came out of the goal and Ronald Bougon tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 78 minutes into the match, Pouilly's goal looked a bit too open when Reynald Burgun came free, but Jean-Yves Mézière reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ronald Bougon recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 80th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Hakim Morineau got free with Jean-Yves Mézière in the 83rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 84 minutes into the match Hakim Morineau climbed in front of goal and pressed up 1-2 in the right cross behind a totally surprised Jean-Yves Mézière. Reynald Burgun struck a weak shot in the 93rd minute. Jean-Yves Mézière didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Vallauris. Reynald Burgun fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jean-Yves Mézière having to interfere. Reynald Burgun's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jean-Yves Mézière read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 97th minute of play. The Pouilly supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Vallauris's performance. The match ended with a win for Vallauris.
