Cers's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Mérignac the free kick. Cers's Cyrille Quere played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Flavien Herrera in the 41st minute of play. If Harold Perche had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The wind increased when Kévin Paysant made the kick off in the second half. Arnold Hubert charged in rather forcefully in the 52nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Arnold Hubert the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Kévin Paysant sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Djibril Delannoy came up free with the goalie in the 59th minute, the Cers fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Djibril Delannoy couldn't finish the play. Zinedine Savidan was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 61st played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. When Mohamed-Ali Dehon fell near the penalty area in the 89th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Mérignac's protests and gave Mohamed-Ali Dehon a yellow card for diving instead. Zinedine Savidan walked up to take care of the penalty kick. He was aiming for the top corner, but the ball went just outside the post. Djibril Delannoy recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 93rd minute.
