Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Youssef Braem took the kick off in the first half of the match. Martial Michiels sent away a hard shot on goal in the 4th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Cyrille Quere took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Youssef Braem, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 12th match minute, Cantarel was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Moïse Vibert to maneuver through the defense. Youssef Braems short, quick shot in the 26thth minute got Cyrille Quere to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. 27 minutes into the game, Kévin Paysant cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Georges Abadie was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The supporters of Cantarel booed when Cers was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 30 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fabrice Rollier didn't get a good kick on the ball. A collision led to Cers getting a freekick after 31 minutes play. Fabrice Rollier hit a great ball. If Youssef Braem had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The long shot by Didier Balard in the 38th minute really tested Cyrille Quere's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. 40 minutes into the match, Cantarel's Didier Balard broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. 46 minutes into the game, Camille Roesch was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Cers's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Cantarel the free kick. Despite close surveillance by the defense, Jonas Diana managed to send off a shot that put the ball into the goal to the left of a disappointed goalkeeper. 1-1 in the 48th minute. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Kévin Paysant was the one to do the kick off. After a rather tough play, Cantarel's Didier Balard got a free kick in the 54th minute. Zinedine Savidan's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Georges Abadie read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 55th minute of play. Moïse Vibert blasted a shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Cyrille Quere having to make a save. Kévin Paysant might have been able to make a better finish in the 69th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Georges Abadie. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Kévin Paysant ran back to his position shaking his head. Moïse Vibert received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 70th minute. Cyrille Quere tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When the match had gone on for 78 minutes, Kévin Paysant took a quick shot and it went in 1-2 without a chance for Georges Abadie to make any attempt to save it. Cyrille Quere made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Charles Thebault in the 87th minute of play. In the 87th match minute, Cers was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Martial Michiels to maneuver through the defense. Cers's Fabrice Rollier got his second yellow card of the match in the 90th minute. The referee ordered Fabrice Rollier off the ground. An unexpectedly hard shot by Moïse Vibert in the 98th minute of play forced Cers's goalkeeper Cyrille Quere to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The Cers supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Cers would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
