Arnaud Darnis took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cyril Guillemot, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After having played for 7 minutes, Cyril Guillemot managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Puteaux's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cyril Guillemot was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Martin Geron in the 8th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Arnaud Darnis prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 10th match minute, Lormont was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Karim Ruggeri to maneuver through the defense. In the 11th minute of the match Florentin Henrion shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Arnaud Darnis showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Reda Aragon made an important save on a dangerous shot by Walter Borie in the 16th minute. When Puteaux's Martin Geron in the 20th minute got a chance for a shot 20th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Lormont's goalie prevented a goal. Ghislain Fallet fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Reda Aragon having to interfere. The supporters of Lormont booed when Puteaux was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 25 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jean-Marie Darnaud didn't get a good kick on the ball. Reda Aragon was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 26th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Daryl Pioger. After a defensive mix-up in Lormont's zone, Martin Geron stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Arnaud Darnis came out of the goal and Martin Geron tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After a rather tough play, Puteaux's Philippe Patte got a free kick in the 30th minute. 35 minutes into the game, Puteaux's Martin Geron nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Arnaud Darnis made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. In the 38th minute, Alain Perisse hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ghislain Fallet received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 43rd minute. Reda Aragon tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 45 minutes into the match, Lormont's Ghislain Fallet sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Reda Aragon narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Ghislain Fallet to make the kick off. After a rather tough play, Lormont's Mathys Rullier got a free kick in the 51st minute. Lormont's Walter Borie got a good chance for a goal in the 55th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Gaspard Gache hit a great freekick 58 minutes into the match. In the 61st match minute, Puteaux was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Martin Geron to maneuver through the defense. When Martin Geron got the opportunity to take care of a free kick it resulted in a really dangerous shot that almost went in the goal. Instead the ball went too high, a missed opportunity for Puteaux. Martin Geron received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 63rd minute. Arnaud Darnis tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 68th minute of the match Puteaux got a corner. Lormont's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Florentin Henrion ran over to the corner to take the kick. Cyril Guillemot struck a weak shot in the 73rd minute. Arnaud Darnis didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Puteaux. In the 77th minute Ghislain Fallet shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Reda Aragon saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Walter Borie fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Reda Aragon having to interfere. Cyril Guillemot sent away a hard shot on goal in the 82nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. If Martin Geron had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when Cyril Guillemot got free with Arnaud Darnis in the 86th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When Martin Geron came up free with the goalie in the 87th minute, the Puteaux fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Martin Geron couldn't finish the play. 95 minutes into the match, Lormont's goal looked a bit too open when Martin Geron came free, but Arnaud Darnis reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the match was over Puteaux could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Lormont throughout the match.
