Without hesitation aimed to the right of Cesar Malbec, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Gérard Clavreul struck a weak shot in the 6th minute. Cesar Malbec didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Méré. The audience thought a goal was coming when Sofiane Guy got free with Cesar Malbec in the 7th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Gérard Clavreul blasted a shot towards the goal in the 9th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Cesar Malbec having to make a save. The Calais fans' excitement grew in the 12th match minute when Calais's Simon Bertholet looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. 16 minutes into the match, Calais's goal looked a bit too open when Gérard Clavreul came free, but Cesar Malbec reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 16 minutes, Oscar Prieto mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Calais and the Méré players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Calais's Oscar Prieto got a free kick in the 16th minute. Méré's Sofiane Guy got a good chance for a goal in the 19th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Erwin Louvet received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 23rd minute. Redouane Gilli tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Simon Bertholet in the 25th minute of play forced Méré's goalkeeper Redouane Gilli to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 27th minute, Simon Bertholet got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Oscar Prieto hit a great freekick 29 minutes into the match. Cesar Malbec showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gérard Clavreul, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. Sofiane Guy received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 35th minute. Cesar Malbec tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Sofiane Guy could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 43rd minute of the match, but Cesar Malbec made a huge save. After a rather tough play, Calais's Pierre-Henri Stutzmann got a free kick in the 44th minute. Simon Bertholet sent away a hard shot on goal in the 46th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Gérard Clavreul to make the kick off. Cesar Malbec made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sofiane Guy in the 53rd minute of play. In the 54th minute of the match Franck Duru sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Redouane Gilli skillfully saved the ball. Sofiane Guy sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to Méré getting a freekick after 65 minutes play. Herbert Floquet hit a great ball. Franck Duru took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 65th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Redouane Gilli. Méré's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. In the 69th minute, Sofiane Guy got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Sofiane Guy fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cesar Malbec having to interfere. Cesar Malbec showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gérard Clavreul in the 77th minute of the match. Méré's defense didn't have a chance, in the 80th minute, when Simon Bertholet scored to the left of an out of position Redouane Gilli, making the score, 0-2. Méré's Redouane Gilli played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Simon Bertholet in the 84th minute of play. A collision led to Méré getting a freekick after 87 minutes play. Herbert Floquet hit a great ball. Sofiane Guy hit a great freekick 90 minutes into the match. Franck Duru recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 91st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Redouane Gilli didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Erwin Louvet went, in the 93rd minute, to the upper right corner, 0-3 was the resulting score. The Calais supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Calais would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
