Éric Pesnel took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from François-Xavier Crétin, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Émile Chênot received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 5th minute. Éric Pesnel tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Philibert Couprie could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 10th minute of the match, but Mounir Maille made a huge save. In the 20th minute, Villepreux's Bakary Segond dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-0. The audience was convinced that Émile Chênot's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Éric Pesnel was relentless in the 23rd minute of the game. In the 27th minute François-Xavier Crétin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Éric Pesnel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Villepreux's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. François-Xavier Crétin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Éric Pesnel having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Villepreux's zone, Émile Chênot stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Éric Pesnel came out of the goal and Émile Chênot tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Émile Chênot received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 39th minute. Éric Pesnel tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Bakary Segond might have been able to make a better finish in the 45th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Mounir Maille. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Bakary Segond ran back to his position shaking his head. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.
The wind increased when Bakary Segond made the kick off in the second half. After some fancy dribbling in the 57th minute, Bakary Segond managed to get in a good position for a shot. Villepreux's supporters rose to their feet, but Bakary Segond was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Mounir Maille breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a defensive mix-up in Geneuille's zone, César Houdin stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Mounir Maille came out of the goal and César Houdin tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Bakary Segond fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mounir Maille having to interfere. A collision led to Villepreux getting a freekick after 64 minutes play. Vivien Vanneste hit a great ball. 65 minutes into the match, Geneuille's Davy Georgin broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Émile Chênot got free with Éric Pesnel in the 66th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Émile Chênot could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 68th minute of the match, but Éric Pesnel made a huge save. With a little luck, Villepreux's Éric Pesnel got control of the ball when Émile Chênot tried to sneak it across the goal line. Geneuille's Dominique Tresor pulled a muscle in his leg after 74 minutes and couldn't finish the game. 74 minutes into the game, Vivien Vanneste was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bakary Segond in the 95th minute of play forced Geneuille's goalkeeper Mounir Maille to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Villepreux's Bakary Segond got a good chance for a goal in the 96th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Thibault Marcou during the 98th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Thibault Marcou hit a great freekick 98 minutes into the match. Bakary Segond fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 101st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mounir Maille having to interfere. Villepreux were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Geneuille for a fine match.
