Amine Mennesson's late challenge caught a Cendre's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. The supporters of Geneuille booed when Cendre was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Maximilien Gremy didn't get a good kick on the ball. Cendre's Faustin Moyse got a good chance for a goal in the 37th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 40th minute of the match, Faustin Moyse got a very nice opportunity to score, but Mounir Maille was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. In the 43rd minute, Bixente Courtade got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Thierry Labarbe received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 46th minute. Mounir Maille tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 47 minutes in the game, Thierry Labarbe fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Mounir Maille having to interfere. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Mounir Maille was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1. After 95th play minutes Émile Chênot shot 2-2, a short shot which went by Pierre-Olivier Helias and just under the crossbar into goal.
