Milhaud's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Coudekerque the free kick. The supporters of Coudekerque booed when Milhaud was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 11 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ronald Sirven didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Noé Blandin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 16 played minutes Milhaud got a freekick which was hit by Jean-Christophe Le Meur. Fernand Boli sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Richard Pellat tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Régis Le Brun stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Pierre-Antoine Ropars's shot from short distance in the 55th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Noé Blandin in the 62nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Richard Pellat prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Noé Blandin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 68th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Pierre-Antoine Ropars received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 70th minute. Régis Le Brun tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Samy Roca in the 72ndth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Régis Le Brun, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. If Samy Roca had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. Régis Le Brun was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 97th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Charly Bernasconi.
