Gouesnou's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Steven Thiel was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Freddy Laget fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Théophile Thiers having to interfere. In the 21st minute Steven Thiel shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Théophile Thiers saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 24 minutes into the game, Donovan Desportes was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Gouesnou's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Bousbach the free kick. A collision led to Gouesnou getting a freekick after 24 minutes play. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Steven Thiel was the one to do the kick off. With a little luck, Gouesnou's Théophile Thiers got control of the ball when Freddy Laget tried to sneak it across the goal line. Stanislas Miot received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 61st minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 95th minute, Kilian Goury managed to get in a good position for a shot. Gouesnou's supporters rose to their feet, but Kilian Goury was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Stanislas Lavalette breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Bousbach eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
