The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Hocine Marciniak took the ball and in the 6 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Gérald Veyret. Gérald Veyret dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Thoiry were furious when Tommy Bossard was red carded, 12 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. In the 11th minute, one of Thoiry:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Thoiry. After a rather tough play, Thoiry's Ange Dallier got a free kick in the 19th minute. Thoiry's Gérald Veyret played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Georges Sakho in the 22nd minute of play. 23 minutes into the game, Rudy Font cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Gérald Veyret was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. When Hocine Marciniak came up free with the goalie in the 30th minute, the Courneuve fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Hocine Marciniak couldn't finish the play. Hocine Marciniak fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gérald Veyret having to interfere. In the 36thth minute of the game Rudy Font who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Thoiry's Gérald Veyret was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 38 minutes into the match, Thoiry's goal looked a bit too open when Rudy Font came free, but Gérald Veyret reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Joël Morille's late challenge caught a Courneuve's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Joël Morille helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Thoiry getting a freekick after 38 minutes play. Joël Morille hit a great ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 41st minute, Rudy Font managed to get in a good position for a shot. Courneuve's supporters rose to their feet, but Rudy Font was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gérald Veyret breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 43 minutes into the game, Bilal Boutaud was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Courneuve's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Thoiry the free kick. The supporters of Thoiry booed when Courneuve was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 43 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bilal Boutaud didn't get a good kick on the ball. Joffrey Burger charged in rather forcefully in the 46th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Joffrey Burger the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Courneuve's Joffrey Burger got a free kick in the 46th minute. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The wind increased when Hocine Marciniak made the kick off in the second half. After a rather tough play, Thoiry's Erwin Jeuland got a free kick in the 52nd minute. If Rudy Font had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Hocine Marciniak blasted a shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Gérald Veyret having to make a save. Gérald Veyret made an important save on a dangerous shot by Rudy Font in the 61st minute. Rudy Fonts short, quick shot in the 63rdth minute got Gérald Veyret to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. After 66 played minutes Thoiry got a freekick which was hit by Pierre-Louis Auzou. In the 71st match minute, Thoiry was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Charlie Marcq to maneuver through the defense. Rudy Font fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gérald Veyret having to interfere. Bilal Boutaud was shown his second yellow card after 76 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. Bilal Boutaud kicked well hit freekick during the 77th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tim Ballester in the 78th minute of play forced Courneuve's goalkeeper Ali Tosello to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 83rd minute Thoiry were awarded a corner. Pierre-Louis Auzou went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner ended in Pierre-Louis Auzou almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Courneuve's Ali Tosello did a great save. A collision led to Thoiry getting a freekick after 85 minutes play. Erwin Jeuland hit a great ball. Tim Ballester sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Tim Ballester fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ali Tosello having to interfere. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Courneuve had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
