Michael Rey made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Michael Rey showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hocine Robine in the 18th minute of the match. A collision led to Praubert getting a freekick after 18 minutes play. Quentin Lebraud hit a great ball. Rouvroy's Alix Galle played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bob Menard in the 29th minute of play. Alix Galle took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bob Menard, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 41st minute Bob Menard shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alix Galle saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Praubert's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Hocine Robine received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 47th minute. Michael Rey tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Bob Menard made a kick off. When Mario Rochas came up free with the goalie in the 53rd minute, the Praubert fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Mario Rochas couldn't finish the play. When Nathan Duhem fell near the penalty area in the 57th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. Mario Rochas struck a weak shot in the 80th minute. Alix Galle didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Praubert. The supporters of Praubert booed when Rouvroy was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 90 match minutes in a wonderful position. Freddy Cordeau didn't get a good kick on the ball. 92 minutes into the match, Praubert's Bob Menard sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Alix Galle narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The Rouvroy supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Rouvroy would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
