A collision led to Paillade getting a freekick after 3 minutes play. Jean-Michel Boucher hit a great ball. 8 minutes into the match, Grenay's goal looked a bit too open when Victor Bulteau came free, but Aurélien Saillard reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Rémi Bouvry struck a weak shot in the 11th minute. Oscar Coutand didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Grenay. In the 18th match minute, Grenay was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Manuel Bergeron to maneuver through the defense. Léopold Bringer took the ball and in the 27 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Oscar Coutand. Oscar Coutand dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. 32 minutes into the match, Paillade's goal looked a bit too open when Rémi Bouvry came free, but Oscar Coutand reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Victor Bulteau received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 35th minute. Aurélien Saillard tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 37th minute Geoffrey Monnerie shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Aurélien Saillard saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Geoffrey Monnerie received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 40th minute. Aurélien Saillard tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Léopold Bringer recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 42nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Valérien Sidibe recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 46th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.
The wind increased when Rémi Bouvry made the kick off in the second half. 52 minutes into the match, Léopold Bringer had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Oscar Coutand. Paillade's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Léopold Bringer was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. 55 minutes into the game, Rémi Bouvry cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-0. Oscar Coutand was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. When Jean Guery fell near the penalty area in the 60th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Paillade's protests and gave Jean Guery a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Grenay booed when Paillade was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 60 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jean Guery didn't get a good kick on the ball. Aurélien Saillard showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Victor Bulteau, who was totally free with the ball in the 65th minute. Geoffrey Monnerie could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 67th minute of the match, but Aurélien Saillard made a huge save. In the 70th minute, Rémi Bouvry got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Paillade's Oscar Coutand played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rémi Bouvry in the 72nd minute of play. In the 77th match minute, Paillade was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jean Guery to maneuver through the defense. 79 minutes into the match, Paillade's goal looked a bit too open when Léopold Bringer came free, but Oscar Coutand reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Madjid Ortega during the 80th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Paillade's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Grenay the free kick. The tension between the Paillade and the Grenay players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Grenay booed when Paillade was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 87 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jean-Michel Boucher didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Jean Baby fell near the penalty area in the 91st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Grenay's protests and gave Jean Baby a yellow card for diving instead. Aurélien Saillard was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 93rd minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Barthelemy Battesti. Jean Guery got his second yellow card in the match during the 95th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. In the 95th match minute, Paillade was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jean Guery to maneuver through the defense. Grenay's Alphonse Pourtier couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 96th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Paillade. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Grenay fans cheered their team off the field, for while Paillade had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
