The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 2nd minute, Romeo Bonnet made a precise shot to the right of Yvan Dalmasso. Corenc's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. Marco Le Duc showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Thierry Ferriere, who was totally free with the ball in the 8th minute. In the 8th minute, Gauthier Piret hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Marco Le Duc took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Thierry Ferriere, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Corenc's Alfred Castet got a good chance for a goal in the 18th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Alfred Castet sent away a hard shot on goal in the 22nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Bixente Meyer kicked well hit freekick during the 32nd minute of the match. Yvan Dalmasso took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luka Pellier, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 39th minute, Alfred Castet hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 42 minutes into the match, Corenc's Thierry Ferriere sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Marco Le Duc narrowly saved just below the crossbar. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Luka Pellier to make the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Romeo Bonnet in the 53rd minute of play forced Corenc's goalkeeper Yvan Dalmasso to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Alban Le Gallo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Yvan Dalmasso having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luka Pellier in the 59th minute of play forced Corenc's goalkeeper Yvan Dalmasso to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Romeo Bonnet came up free with the goalie in the 60th minute, the Batarelle fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Romeo Bonnet couldn't finish the play. After a rather tough play, Corenc's Thierry Ferriere got a free kick in the 67th minute. If Romeo Bonnet had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 77th minute Alfred Castet shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marco Le Duc saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Alfred Castet recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 83rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 85th minute, Thierry Ferriere got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Thierry Ferriere fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marco Le Duc having to interfere. After 96 minutes of play, Corenc's Thierry Ferriere made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Marco Le Duc was left in no man's land by his defense there!
