Gaillard's Marcel Andraud played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jeremy Bluteau in the 9th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 12th minute, Claude Caillaux managed to get in a good position for a shot. Gaillard's supporters rose to their feet, but Claude Caillaux was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Camille Robbe breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Victor Bassot received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 14th minute. Camille Robbe tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 16 minutes into the match, Gaillard's Victor Bassot sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Camille Robbe narrowly saved just below the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Claude Caillaux in the 27th minute of play forced Vesse's goalkeeper Camille Robbe to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jeremy Bluteau sent away a hard shot on goal in the 30th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 33 played minutes Gaillard got a freekick which was hit by Prosper Courtecuisse. Camille Robbe showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Victor Bassot, who was totally free with the ball in the 39th minute. Claude Caillaux received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 40th minute. Camille Robbe tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Marin Boittin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 48th minute. Marcel Andraud tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Victor Bassot to make the kick off. Gaillard's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Vesse the free kick. Marcel Andraud showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Marin Boittin in the 65th minute of the match. In the 66th minute, Teddy Pinel hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in Gaillard's zone, Marin Boittin stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Marcel Andraud came out of the goal and Marin Boittin tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 76th minute Jeremy Bluteau shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marcel Andraud saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Marin Boittin blasted a shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Marcel Andraud having to make a save. A collision led to Gaillard getting a freekick after 88 minutes play. Kevin Delacroix hit a great ball. In the 93rd minute, Willy Le Mentec hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of Gaillard booed when Vesse was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 96 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mario Louison didn't get a good kick on the ball. The Gaillard players were the happier at the end of the match as they had prevented Vesse from taking control. The game ends in a draw.
