When Nathan Blouet came up free with the goalie in the 3rd minute, the Xeuilley fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Nathan Blouet couldn't finish the play. Sidney Ibanez fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jordan Sommier having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Pierre-Olivier Pigot got free with Jordan Sommier in the 22nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Sammy Jardel sent away a hard shot on goal in the 26th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Pompignac's defense didn't have a chance, in the 29th minute, when Sidney Ibanez scored to the left of an out of position Jordan Sommier, making the score, 1-1. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Sammy Jardel in the 34th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Faouzi Linossier saved Xeuilley from getting behind. In the 36th minute, Mehdi Marcoux hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Faouzi Linossier made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sammy Jardel in the 37th minute of play. 39 minutes into the match, Xeuilley's Pierre-Olivier Pigot sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Jordan Sommier narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Sidney Ibanez sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Faouzi Linossier didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Sammy Jardel went, in the 43rd minute, to the upper right corner, 1-2 was the resulting score. The supporters of Pompignac booed when Xeuilley was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 47 match minutes in a wonderful position. Elias Hernandez didn't get a good kick on the ball. Auguste Boidin took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 49th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Faouzi Linossier. Xeuilley's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Sidney Ibanez stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 54 minutes into the game, Xeuilley's Pierre-Olivier Pigot nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Jordan Sommier made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-2. After having played for 61 minutes, Pierre-Olivier Pigot managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Xeuilley's supporters crossed their fingers, but Pierre-Olivier Pigot was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Xeuilley's Faouzi Linossier played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Djibril Sabathier in the 66th minute of play. In the 68th minute Djibril Sabathier shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Faouzi Linossier saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Hervé Vergnaud charged in rather forcefully in the 75th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Hervé Vergnaud the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Pompignac's Djibril Sabathier got a good chance for a goal in the 81st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Djibril Sabathier received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 89th minute. Faouzi Linossier tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Pompignac's Djibril Sabathier in the 91st minute got a chance for a shot 91st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Xeuilley's goalie prevented a goal. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
