Joris Guilloux's late challenge caught a Orcines's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Joris Guilloux helped the player get up and apologised. Damien Denis struck a weak shot in the 14th minute. Antonin Sorin didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Carpiquet. If Damien Denis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sam Nicolai in the 18th minute of play forced Orcines's goalkeeper Antonin Sorin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 21st minute Damien Denis shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Antonin Sorin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Antonin Sorin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Damien Denis, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Sam Nicolai received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 30th minute. Antonin Sorin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jean-Charles Rapin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Vivien Pigne, who was totally free with the ball in the 37th minute. 40 minutes into the match, Carpiquet's goalkeeper Jean-Charles Rapin had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Jean-Charles Jeulin. Antonin Sorin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sam Nicolai, who was totally free with the ball in the 47th minute. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Sam Nicolai was the one to do the kick off. In the 51st minute Ludovic Boussac shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jean-Charles Rapin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Sam Nicolai in the 54th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Antonin Sorin prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After some fancy dribbling in the 56th minute, Damien Denis managed to get in a good position for a shot. Carpiquet's supporters rose to their feet, but Damien Denis was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Antonin Sorin breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Jean-Charles Jeulin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Thibaut Carlot charged in rather forcefully in the 91st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Thibaut Carlot the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. 92 minutes into the match, Carpiquet's goal looked a bit too open when Jean-Charles Jeulin came free, but Jean-Charles Rapin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
