In the 3rd minute, Davy Koehler got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Dave Chaplain had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 5th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Davy Koehler in the 11th minute of play forced Villarcher's goalkeeper Cédric Nys to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Lionel Bruyant during the 13th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Lionel Bruyant kicked well hit freekick during the 13th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Davy Koehler in the 20th minute of play forced Villarcher's goalkeeper Cédric Nys to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Davy Koehler blasted a shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Cédric Nys having to make a save. When Villarcher's Tanguy Marconnet in the 31st minute got a chance for a shot 31st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A hard shot by Lionel Bruyant from long distance, 36 minutes into the match, got Cédric Nys's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. Villarcher's defense didn't have a chance, in the 40th minute, when Davy Koehler scored to the left of an out of position Cédric Nys, making the score, 1-0. Felicien Rouy showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dave Chaplain, who was totally free with the ball in the 46th minute. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Davy Koehler was the one to do the kick off. When Tanguy Marconnet came up free with the goalie in the 56th minute, the Villarcher fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tanguy Marconnet couldn't finish the play. In the 61st minute, Davy Koehler left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Versoud fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. Villarcher's Tanguy Marconnet got a good chance for a goal in the 73rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Versoud's Romeo Crepin got a free kick in the 74th minute. After 81 played minutes Villarcher got a freekick which was hit by Célestin Huin. Dave Chaplain recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 88th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Cédric Nys took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Davy Koehler, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Villarcher's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
