The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Theophile Molinie to strike the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Arthur Boulesteix in the 51st minute of play forced Blanquefort's goalkeeper Gustave Mahot to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Arthur Boulesteix's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Gustave Mahot read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 53rd minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Theophile Molinie in the 60th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Gustave Mahot saved Blanquefort from getting behind. In the 65thth minute of the game Arthur Boulesteix who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Blanquefort's Gustave Mahot was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Gustave Mahot was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The Fourvière manager could be seen shouting at his players as they walked down the tunnel after the match. He was clearly angry that they had squandered their superior possession, allowing Blanquefort to win.
