An unexpectedly hard shot by David Verneau in the 11th minute of play forced Walbach's goalkeeper Justin Bayard to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 18 played minutes Eschentzwiller got a freekick which was hit by Berenger Bremond. Patrice Garcon sent away a hard shot on goal in the 26th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Patrice Garcon had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 33 played minutes Walbach got a freekick which was hit by Brandon Toussaint. After having played for 38 minutes, Brandon Toussaint managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Walbach's supporters crossed their fingers, but Brandon Toussaint was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Jean-Paul Devred made a fantastic save in the 45th minute, when Brandon Toussaint sent off a good shot on target. The audience was convinced that Brandon Toussaint's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jean-Paul Devred was relentless in the 46th minute of the game.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. David Verneau was the one to do the kick off. In the 52nd minute, Norbert Jacq hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Mohamed Baldini had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Eschentzwiller's Berenger Bremond got a free kick in the 55th minute. Justin Bayard showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from David Verneau in the 62nd minute of the match. When Mohamed Baldini came up free with the goalie in the 66th minute, the Walbach fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Mohamed Baldini couldn't finish the play. 70 minutes into the game, Brandon Toussaint cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-3. Jean-Paul Devred was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. With his leg Justin Bayard managed to avoid a goal in the 74thth minute, when Eschentzwiller's David Verneau fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. 75 minutes into the game, Eschentzwiller's Patrice Garcon nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Justin Bayard made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-4. The supporters of Eschentzwiller booed when Walbach was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 80 match minutes in a wonderful position. Octave Staub didn't get a good kick on the ball. Patrice Garcon could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 82nd minute of the match, but Justin Bayard made a huge save. In the 84th minute, Mohamed Baldini ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Jean-Paul Devred was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-4. After a defensive mix-up in Eschentzwiller's zone, Octave Staub stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jean-Paul Devred came out of the goal and Octave Staub tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Brandon Toussaint in the 89th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jean-Paul Devred prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Brandon Toussaint might have been able to make a better finish in the 92nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jean-Paul Devred. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Brandon Toussaint ran back to his position shaking his head. When Mohamed Baldini got free in front of the goal in the 94th minute he wasn't very focused and chipped the ball just over the goal. Jean-Paul Devred was delighted since he was out of position and the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. Jean-Paul Devred showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Brandon Toussaint, who was totally free with the ball in the 96th minute. The Eschentzwiller players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
