In the 7th match minute, FC Bayeux was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Camille Bouzidi to maneuver through the defense. Gameiro Pitiot showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from David Verneau in the 10th minute of the match. After having played for 14 minutes, Sidney Bordier managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FC Bayeux's supporters crossed their fingers, but Sidney Bordier was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a rather tough play, FC Bayeux's Jean-Marc Rodriguez got a free kick in the 22nd minute. If Théophile Jullien had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Eschentzwiller were furious when Emmanuel Valverde was red carded, 28 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. The referee gave FC Bayeux a penalty, 29 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Rodolphe Balland, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Eschentzwiller's Jean-Paul Devred. 1-1. Eschentzwiller's Jean-Paul Devred played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sidney Bordier in the 39th minute of play.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Théophile Jullien to make the kick off. The nice shot from Sidney Bordier in the 54thth minute just in front of the goal should have ended in point on the board, but Jean-Paul Devred had a great feel for the game and superbly saved the ball from getting in by the left post. The audience thought a goal was coming when Sidney Bordier got free with Jean-Paul Devred in the 60th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Théophile Jullien had several of the Eschentzwiller's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 62 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 2-2 score and a disappointed Jean-Paul Devred as he didn't even see the shot coming. Patrice Garcon's late challenge caught a FC Bayeux's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Patrice Garcon helped the player get up and apologised. 2-3 became the score in the 66th minute when Sidney Bordier elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. In the 70th minute, Berenger Bremond hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a little luck, Eschentzwiller's Jean-Paul Devred got control of the ball when Sidney Bordier tried to sneak it across the goal line. Gameiro Pitiot took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Patrice Garcon, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 77 minutes, Darren Rouland mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Eschentzwiller and the FC Bayeux players grew even worse after the yellow card. Darren Rouland hit a great freekick 77 minutes into the match. Sidney Bordier could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 81st minute of the match, but Jean-Paul Devred made a huge save. After 83rd play minutes Sidney Bordier shot 2-4, a short shot which went by Jean-Paul Devred and just under the crossbar into goal. Dylan Bonnefon hit a great freekick 85 minutes into the match. In the 89th minute of the match, Sidney Bordier got a very nice opportunity to score, but Jean-Paul Devred was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Eschentzwiller's Jean-Paul Devred proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 93rd minute of the match, managed to save Eschentzwiller from getting a goal against them. 94 minutes into the match, Eschentzwiller's goal looked a bit too open when Théophile Jullien came free, but Jean-Paul Devred reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 97 minutes into the game, Camille Bouzidi was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. FC Bayeux's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Eschentzwiller the free kick. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 96th minute of the game. One of FC Bayeux:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Eschentzwiller:s goal. In the 98th minute there was a penalty for Eschentzwiller. Ludovic Pageot stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Gameiro Pitiot. 3-4.
