Bouchain's Jean-Paul Morere got a good chance for a goal in the 46th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Cyprien Hervouet stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Émeric Gélineau's shot from short distance in the 48th minute. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 2-2 after a close first half.

After 52 played minutes Bouchain's Jean-Paul Morere stole the ball from his opponents and shot the ball towards the upper left corner, but Cyprien Hervouet stretched himself as far as he could, and stopped the ball from passing the line. robbing Planque of the goal.
