In the 5th minute Franklin Sarron shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fabien Barthez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Ognyan Klyashev came up free with the goalie in the 11th minute, the Football Wizards 59 fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ognyan Klyashev couldn't finish the play. After some careless play in the Algrange defense, Franklin Sarron kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Fabien Barthez. The Algrange fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Fabien Barthez should have stopped the shot. Spyros Chatzakos made a fantastic save in the 19th minute, when Pascal Ohlmann sent off a good shot on target. With a little luck, Football Wizards 59's Spyros Chatzakos got control of the ball when Gregorio Laurentzi tried to sneak it across the goal line. 24 minutes into the match, Football Wizards 59's goal looked a bit too open when Edmondo Antonangeli came free, but Spyros Chatzakos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Algrange were awarded a corner in the 25th minute after Football Wizards 59's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Pascal Ohlmann took the corner. Isaiah Simmons made a great header on Algrange's corner, it was just that Football Wizards 59's Spyros Chatzakos managed to reach the ball for a save. Spyros Chatzakos made a fantastic save in the 27th minute, when Pascal Ohlmann sent off a good shot on target. In the 28th minute, Franklin Sarron got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Football Wizards 59's supporters crossed their fingers, but Franklin Sarron was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 61 played minutes Football Wizards 59 got a freekick which was hit by Aziz Fourny. After having played for 67 minutes, Gökçen Harmancı managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Football Wizards 59's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gökçen Harmancı was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Franklin Sarron fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fabien Barthez having to interfere. In the 71st minute Nikša Debeljuh shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Spyros Chatzakos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Spyros Chatzakos showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gregorio Laurentzi, who was totally free with the ball in the 73rd minute. Jan Boström lost his temper 74 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Spyros Chatzakos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Johnny Camus in the 79th minute of play. Football Wizards 59's Spyros Chatzakos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gregorio Laurentzi in the 82nd minute of play. After a rather tough play, Football Wizards 59's Aziz Fourny got a free kick in the 89th minute. The Algrange manager could be seen shouting at his players as they walked down the tunnel after the match. He was clearly angry that they had squandered their superior possession, allowing Football Wizards 59 to win.
