Fróði Midjord might have been able to make a better finish in the 6th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Poul Tórgarð. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Fróði Midjord ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 8thth minute of the game Fróði Midjord who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Skælingur's Poul Tórgarð was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Poul Tórgarð showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Janus Midjurd, who was totally free with the ball in the 10th minute. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 13th minute of the game. One of Skælingur:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Sandy:s goal. Poul Tórgarð had in the 14thth minute some difficulties stopping Rafał Egholm's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. In the 14th minute, Rafał Egholm left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Sandy fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Torkil Løkin kicked well hit freekick during the 18th minute of the match. In the 23rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Sandy's goalkeeper Sjúrður Løkin, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. If Óli Joensen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 31st minute Heini Thorleifsson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sjúrður Løkin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Janus Midjurd had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Skælingur's Poul Tórgarð played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fróði Midjord in the 36th minute of play. Skælingur's Bergur Færø got a good chance for a goal in the 37th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. With an all-out effort, Skælingur's Sjúrður Løkin threw himself towards the right post 45 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Heini Thorleifsson, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Poul Tórgarð made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fróði Midjord in the 47th minute of play. After the first half Sandy were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Rúnar Davy Sylla's late challenge caught a Skælingur's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Rúnar Davy Sylla helped the player get up and apologised. Rúnar Davy Sylla kicked well hit freekick during the 52nd minute of the match. Sjúrður Løkin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bergur Færø, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Bergur Færø blasted a shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Sjúrður Løkin having to make a save. When Óli Joensen came up free with the goalie in the 61st minute, the Skælingur fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Óli Joensen couldn't finish the play. Rógvi Debes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 70th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Sandy's Janus Midjurd in the 82nd minute got a chance for a shot 82nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Skælingur's goalie prevented a goal. In the 84th minute, Rógvi Debes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 85th minute, Rafał Egholm sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Skælingur's Poul Tórgarð didn't even have to move. Sandy's Sjúrður Løkin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bergur Færø in the 87th minute of play. Bergur Færø fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sjúrður Løkin having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Sandy's Leif Egholm got a free kick in the 90th minute. If Bergur Færø had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The Skælingur supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Sandy's performance. The match ended with a win for Sandy.
