Norðskáli ÍF 's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. If Sjúrdur Kwieciński had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 8th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when Bárður Højsted got free with Fróði Egholm in the 12th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hans Castilho in the 19th minute of play forced Norðskáli ÍF 's goalkeeper Klæmint Troest Davidsen to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Norðskáli ÍF 's Fríðrikur Midjurd suffered a sprained foot after 20 minutes and couldn't finish the game. When Andrew Dalbúð fell near the penalty area in the 20th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Alston's protests and gave Andrew Dalbúð a yellow card for diving instead. In the 21st match minute, Alston was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Andrew Dalbúð to maneuver through the defense. A collision led to Alston getting a freekick after 23 minutes play. If Jóhan í Skorini had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 33 minutes into the match, Alston's goalkeeper Fróði Egholm had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Bárður Højsted. In the 34th minute, Janus Nielsen hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Bárður Højsted sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Bárður Højsted was the one to do the kick off. In the 52nd match minute, Alston was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Torkil Castilho to maneuver through the defense. Fróði Egholm made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Andrew Norðbúð in the 54th minute of play. 58 minutes into the game, Jóhan í Skorini recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Klæmint Troest Davidsen. Jóhan í Skorini showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-1. Marni Højsted hit a great freekick 63 minutes into the match. In the 64th minute Jóhan í Skorini shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Klæmint Troest Davidsen saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jóhan í Skorini sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 78 minutes, Bárður Højsted managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Norðskáli ÍF 's supporters crossed their fingers, but Bárður Højsted was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 80 minutes into the match, Alston's goal looked a bit too open when Rafał Midjord came free, but Fróði Egholm reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a little luck, Norðskáli ÍF 's Klæmint Troest Davidsen got control of the ball when Hans Castilho tried to sneak it across the goal line. If Bárður Højsted had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Hans Castilho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 95th minute. Klæmint Troest Davidsen tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Alston booed when Norðskáli ÍF was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 96 match minutes in a wonderful position. Károly Potemkin didn't get a good kick on the ball.
