In a very dangerous position, a player in Haldarsvík fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 13th minute. Penalty! When the match had been going on for 16 minutes, Alston's Suni Eliasen got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Jóan Færø. The supporters of Haldarsvík booed when Alston was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 19 match minutes in a wonderful position. Janus Nielsen didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 24th minute Fríðrikur Tórgarð shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fróði Egholm saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jóan Færø showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jóhan í Skorini, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. Hanus Midjurd received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 30th minute. Fróði Egholm tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Fríðrikur Tórgarð fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fróði Egholm having to interfere. Fróði Egholm showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hanus Midjurd in the 34th minute of the match. Hanus Midjurd sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Hanus Midjurd received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 37th minute. Fróði Egholm tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Thanks to some nice moves Hans Castilho could shoot a difficult shot in the 48th minute, which Jóan Færø however easily saved by the left post. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

The wind increased when Jóhan í Skorini made the kick off in the second half. 55 minutes into the match, Haldarsvík's goal looked a bit too open when Jóhan í Skorini came free, but Jóan Færø reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Jóhan í Skorini had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Atli Jónsson hit a great freekick 62 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in Alston's zone, Fríðrikur Tórgarð stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Fróði Egholm came out of the goal and Fríðrikur Tórgarð tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Hanus Midjurd could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 66th minute of the match, but Fróði Egholm made a huge save. Hans Castilho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jóan Færø made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jóhan í Skorini in the 71st minute of play. In the 71st minute of the game, René Hansen landed unfortunately after trying to head the ball, and pulled a muscle in the back, so badly that he had to leave the field. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Tommy Højsted during the 71st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Tommy Højsted hit a great freekick 72 minutes into the match. Fróði Egholm showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fríðrikur Tórgarð in the 77th minute of the match. Torkil Dalbúð's late challenge caught a Alston's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Torkil Dalbúð helped the player get up and apologised. In the 79th minute, Torkil Dalbúð hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 84th minute the ball was on its way in behind Alston's goalkeeper Fróði Egholm, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Suni Eliasen during the 88th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 87 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Alston! The referee gave Haldarsvík a penalty, 89 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Torkil Dalbúð, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Alston's Fróði Egholm. 2-1. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Alston fans cheered their team off the field, for while Haldarsvík had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
