Gjógv FS's Simun Egholm proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 5th minute of the match, managed to save Gjógv FS from getting a goal against them. In the 7th minute, Marni R. Hansen ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Simun Egholm was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. The audience was convinced that Christian Eliasen's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Bárður Egholm was relentless in the 15th minute of the game. 16 minutes into the match, Gjógv FS's goal looked a bit too open when Marni R. Hansen came free, but Simun Egholm reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marni R. Hansen in the 18th minute of play forced Gjógv FS's goalkeeper Simun Egholm to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Marni R. Hansen in the 20th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Simun Egholm saved Gjógv FS from getting behind. In the 21st minute, Jákup Stanković hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Simun Egholm was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Marni R. Hansen showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-0 in the 23 minute of play. If Marni R. Hansen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Hannis av Fløtum kicked well hit freekick during the 29th minute of the match. 30 minutes into the match it was 3-0 when Mikkjal Joensen shot a long shot which zipped by Gjógv FS's goalkeeper at the right pole. Dalur's Marni R. Hansen got a good chance for a goal in the 32nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Simun Egholm made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marni R. Hansen in the 35th minute of play. With his leg Simun Egholm managed to avoid a goal in the 39thth minute, when Dalur's Regin Samuelsen fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. When Brian Hansen fell near the penalty area in the 41st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Dalur's protests and gave Brian Hansen a yellow card for diving instead. In the 41st minute, Brian Hansen hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Gjógv FS's Károly Dalbúð managed to work through Dalur's defense and was going for an easy goal, but he hit the shot with his toe and the ball flew outside the goal. Károly Dalbúð dejectedly held out his arms as if to ask why the ball hadn't gone in. After having played for 48 minutes, Christian Eliasen managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Gjógv FS's supporters crossed their fingers, but Christian Eliasen was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Károly Dalbúð to make the kick off. In the 53rd minute Károly Dalbúð shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bárður Egholm saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 55th minute, Christian Eliasen got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Károly Dalbúð had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 58th minute, Amed Dam hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Gjógv FS's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Oddmar Dam in the 61st minute. Oddmar Dam made a great header on Gjógv FS's corner, it was just that Dalur's Bárður Egholm managed to reach the ball for a save. Simun Egholm showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Marni R. Hansen in the 68th minute of the match. Gjógv FS were awarded a corner in the 71th minute after Dalur's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Oddmar Dam took the corner. After 73 played minutes Dalur got a freekick which was hit by Marni R. Hansen. If Christian Eliasen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Christian Eliasen sent away a hard shot on goal in the 77th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 78 minutes into the game, one of Dalur:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. The audience thought a goal was coming when Christian Eliasen got free with Bárður Egholm in the 83rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Brian Hansen got his second yellow card in the match during the 84th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. A collision led to Dalur getting a freekick after 85 minutes play. Brian Hansen hit a great ball. With 89 minutes on the clock, Per Fróði Hansen commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. 88 minutes into the game, one of Dalur:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. The audience thought a goal was coming when Christian Eliasen got free with Bárður Egholm in the 95th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. For all the effort they put into the match, the Gjógv FS players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Dalur.
