With a little luck, Strendur ÍF's Ronnie Kruse got control of the ball when Janus Høgni Jacobsen tried to sneak it across the goal line. A collision led to Strendur ÍF getting a freekick after 8 minutes play. Óli Thomassen hit a great ball. 13 minutes into the match, Strendur ÍF's goalkeeper Ronnie Kruse had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Janus Høgni Jacobsen. In the 15th minute the ball was on its way in behind Stanway's goalkeeper Pauli Løkin, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Stanway's zone, Andrias Jacobsen stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Pauli Løkin came out of the goal and Andrias Jacobsen tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 19 played minutes Stanway got a freekick which was hit by Janus Høgni Jacobsen. The audience was convinced that Egil í Lon Jacobsen's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Pauli Løkin was relentless in the 22nd minute of the game. Pauli Løkin showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Óli Thomassen in the 24th minute of the match. 26 minutes into the match, Andrias Jacobsen notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Stanway's Pauli Løkin. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

The wind increased when Andrias Jacobsen made the kick off in the second half. Egil í Lon Jacobsen fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 51st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pauli Løkin having to interfere. A hard shot 55 in the game by Egil í Lon Jacobsen from a close distance when the talented Pauli Løkin managed to make a qualified save. Stanway's players were relieved. Pauli Løkin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Andrias Jacobsen, who was totally free with the ball in the 56th minute. After a rather tough play, Strendur ÍF's Jann Mikkelsen got a free kick in the 59th minute. After 65 minutes, Enok Hansen mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Strendur ÍF and the Stanway players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Stanway booed when Strendur ÍF was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 66 match minutes in a wonderful position. Enok Hansen didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 67th minute of the match Herbert Kwieciński sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Ronnie Kruse skillfully saved the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Todi Samuelsen during the 68th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Einar Hans Rubeksen in the 96th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ronnie Kruse prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Stanway had won after a very even match.
