Adelio Navarro succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 1-0 in the 4th playminute. Ferdinand De Paula took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 7th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Xiao Ribas. Valencia's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. In the 15th minute Xan Casillas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Augusto Azofra saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Augusto Azofra showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Zacarías Prats, who was totally free with the ball in the 17th minute. In the 21stth minute of the game Gaizko Vacas who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Valencia's Xiao Ribas was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The supporters of Santa Eugenia booed when Valencia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 30 match minutes in a wonderful position. Baudilio Santander didn't get a good kick on the ball. 33 minutes into the game, Zacarías Prats was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Valencia's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Santa Eugenia the free kick. In the 33rd minute, Zacarías Prats hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Gaizko Vacas recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 44th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 45 minutes into the game, Xove Lopez was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Valencia's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Santa Eugenia the free kick. Xove Lopez hit a great freekick 45 minutes into the match. Lorenzo Bergada lost his temper 48 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. 48 minutes into the game, one of Valencia:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. In the 50th minute there was a penalty for Santa Eugenia. Ferdinand De Paula stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Xiao Ribas. 2-0. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Xan Casillas stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Zacarías Prats hit a great freekick 58 minutes into the match. Xiao Ribas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gaizko Vacas in the 60th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Santa Eugenia's Patxi Montes got a free kick in the 63rd minute. Xiao Ribas showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Adelio Navarro in the 76th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Adelio Navarro in the 80th minute of play forced Valencia's goalkeeper Xiao Ribas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Zacarías Prats received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 83rd minute. Augusto Azofra tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 84th match minute, Santa Eugenia was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Orlando Martinez to maneuver through the defense. 86 minutes into the match, Santa Eugenia's goalkeeper Augusto Azofra had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Xan Casillas. An unexpectedly hard shot by Adelio Navarro in the 88th minute of play forced Valencia's goalkeeper Xiao Ribas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Valencia's Xan Casillas got a good chance for a goal in the 89th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The supporters of Valencia booed when Santa Eugenia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 90 match minutes in a wonderful position. Orlando Martinez didn't get a good kick on the ball. Xiao Ribas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Adelio Navarro in the 94th minute of play. Adelio Navarro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to Santa Eugenia getting a freekick after 98 minutes play. Guillermo Novo hit a great ball. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Santa Eugenia fans cheered their team off the field, for while Valencia had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
